Warner Christian Academy, a ministry of White Chapel Church, opened the doors of the first grade in September of 1971 and soon after added a Day Care Center. In September of 1972 WCA opened the school year with 228 students in grades K5-9. By the 1973 fall term, Warner had 440 students and the athletic program was started. In 1974, the first graduating class became the first official alumni of WCA. Since being established in 1971, Dr. Maurice Berquist's vision of providing a Christ-centered education to as many children in Volusia County as possible has been realized as thousands of young people have benefited from the opportunities offered at Warner Christian Academy.

Spiritual Life

White Chapel Church of God began the ministry of Warner Christian Academy with the express purpose of training a thousand young people for Christian ministry in whatever field God would lead them. Providing a quality Christ-centered education to as many students as possible is a lofty goal. God has provided the facilities and a "living curriculum" through our Spirit-led, academically degreed teachers and staff.

CHAPEL SERVICES

Chapel services are held weekly. High school students are lead in praise and worship by the student-led worship team. Students from elementary classes, the elementary choir, the band and the worship team will often present special music. Area pastors and music groups as well as traveling groups from Christian colleges and organizations are invited to speak or perform.

SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS

Bible is a required course at WCA, the Word of God is something that our lives our built upon. Twice a year, additional time is set aside for Spiritual Emphasis Week by having extra chapels and more student involvement into the spiritual life of our campus. While it is not the only spiritual emphasis, chapel is an integral part of the spiritual development we hope to produce in the student body, it happens weekly and parents are welcome to attend. Prayer is important at WCA, we take time before every class to pray with our students.

MISSION TRIPS AND SERVICE PROJECTS

Throughout the school year, students will be involved in mission trips to places far and near, and also participate in athletic or class service projects. Students actively support the St. Jude Math Olympics, blood drives, visitation in nursing homes, Christmas concerts in the community, and Operation Christmas child. In addition to voluntary service projects WCA requires service hours for every quarter for our students, service is something modeled by our Lord Jesus.
